Mr. Edwards was originally buried in the Cleveland County Home cemetery located at the fairgrounds. On April 26th, 1994, his resting place was moved to its current location.

Update 9/18/2008: According to a death certificate on file with the Register of Deeds in Cleveland County, NC, Mr. Edwards was a widowed farmer who had suffered from "Paralysis agitans" for six years prior to his death at the County Home. His parents' names were unknown to the informant, Mr. John Blanton the superintendant of the home. Mr. Edwards was buried on 28 Sep 1953.
