Fighter pilot in WWII and Korea, flying P-40's, P-47's, P-51's, F-80 Shooting Star's, T-33's respectively (amongst others).
1st place winner in the Allison jet division in the 1949 Cleveland National Air Races flying a Lockheed F-80C Shooting Star, setting a world land speed record of 594 mph.
Test pilot for Lockheed in the 1950's and early 1960's flying F-86 Sabre's, F-100 SuperSabre's and others.
Retired a full Colonel from the Air Force in 1972 after 31 years of service.
Passed away in 1998 after a 23+ year battle with Parkinson's Disease.
His wife of 54 years (married in 1944) and 2 grown children miss him tremendously.

4 Bronze Battle Stars (Easter European theatre - 1944-45).
Distinguished Flying Cross with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters - 1963.
Air Medal 21 Oak Leaf Clusters - Apr 1945.
Air Force Commendation Medal Oct 1967.
