MARJORIE RUTH EVANS NICHOLS, age 90, of Otway Ohio, passed away May 26, 2013 at the Portsmouth Crystal Care Center.

She was born in Adams County, on August 18, 1922 to the late Bruce T. and Seppie Hodge Evans.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell (Buck) Nichols (whom she married April 15, 1939), 1 sister: Retta; five brothers: Roy, Coleman, Herbert, Bruce, and Charlie; and one grandson: James D. Nichols.

She is survived by her 13 children: Audrey & (Lloyd) Gambill of Otway, Mary & (Grover) Cook of New Albany, Ohio, Judy & (William) Kremin of McDermott, John Nichols of Otway, Edward "Tom" & (Rilla) Nichols of West Union, Charles & (Carol) Nichols of Otway, Sue & (Daniel) King of Wheelersburg, Robert & (Debbie) Nichols of Blue Creek, Pam & (David) Gallion of Otway, Peter & (Glenna) Nichols of Otway, Fred & (Debbie) Nichols of Otway, David & (Cindy) Nichols of Otway, Anita & (Ryan) Gillette of Lucasville, 35 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.

Marjorie was a devoted Christian and charter member of the Rocky Fork Community Church. Of the many things Marjorie will be remembered for, most notable will be her love of singing in church, which she did her entire life.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 30th, 2013 at the Rocky Fork Community Church, Otway, with the Rev. Daniel King officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunshine Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Botkin Funeral Home in Otway from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

The Nichols family would like to extend Special Thanks and Appreciation to Dr. George Esham and the employees of the Crystal Care Center for the love, and care extended to Marjorie during her stay there. The Nichols family will always remember the personal concern shown to their mother and family members especially during these past few days.

In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Rocky Fork Community Church, Otway, Ohio or Crystal Care Center, Portsmouth, Ohio in remembrance of Marjorie Nichols.
