Angeline was born to parents Kevin Scott & Martha Chavis, both born Tennessee.
Her race was black.
marriage 1 :
March 1857 Vigo County, Indiana married Jourdan Anderson, son of David & Elizabeth, born in North Carolina and moved to Nevins Indiana around 1838.

Husband Jourdan served in the Civil War in the 28 Indiana Colored Troops.

1870 Angeline & Jourdan Anderson relocated with young family to Urbana, Illinois.
On July 25, 1885 her husband Jourdan Anderson died and was buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery. His grave marker bears no dates.

marriage 2:
On February 24, 1887 in Champaign County, Angeline remarried Martin McDermot also spelled McDemet (1847 - 1898 born in Arkansas to Martin McDemet and Thrsy Gipson). Martin was also a Civil War veteran serving in the Colored Troops, and was a member of the Black Eagle Post.
Martin died of typhoid fever, and Angeline was once again widowed by 1900, where she was found living with her daughters Clara (Essex) Allen and later Eunice Webster. In 1900 Census she listed having 12 children, 5 still living.
