Linda Kay Elliott, daughter of Donald H. and Goldie Powell, was born at Houston, Mo., Sept. 28, 1944 and died Feb. 23, 1965, in the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, making her age at time of death 20 years, four months and 25 days. On Feb. 24, 1962 she was united in marriage to Sam J. Elliott in Roby, Mo., and to this union three children were born. Mrs. Elliott spent most of her life in the Roby and Houston area, and attended the Houston schools. For the past three years she had carried the mail to Houston. At an early age she was united with the Grey Summitt Baptist Church at Grey Summitt, Mo. , and later moved her letter to the Roby Baptist Church at Roby. Linda Kay is survived by her husband, Sam; one son, Samuel Cody and two daughters, Karen Lee and Cindy Lou of the home; her mother, Golda Powell of Roby; one sister, Norma Sue Powell of Roby; three brothers, Don of Willow Springs, Charles R, and Gary of Roby; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elza Willis of Houston and her paternal grandfather, Emmett Powell of Naples, Tex, Funeral services were conducted Feb. 27 at the Roby Baptist Church by the Rev. Don Breazile. Burial was in Long Hollow Cemetery under direction of Davis-Barber Funeral Home of Houston.
