Lucille Agnew, Onawa, Iowa died in the Elmwood Nursing Home in Onawa on Wednesday, November 11, 1987, after a long illness. Death came at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 3 days.

She was born near Whiting, Iowa on December 8, 1904, the daughter of G.C. and Grace (Chilson) Riedeman. She attended Onawa High School, Morningside College in Sioux City and the University of South Dakota at Vermillion. On December 25, 1926, she was married to Paul Agnew in Onawa. He died in 1941 at Terre Haute, Indiana. She moved to Torrance, Calif., in 1942 and entered the WACS in 1943. She was a secretary for Theim Industries in Torrance. In 1978 she returned to Onawa and had been a resident of Elmwood Nursing Home since June 1987.

Lucille was a member of the First Christian Church in Onawa.

Survivors include two sisters, Mabel Johnson and Ferne Clubine, both of Onawa, a half sister, Jean Swenson of Winter Park, Florida and a half brother, Jim Griswold of Denver, Colo., and a nephew, Gary Carlson of Moorhead, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Blanche Carlson, and one nephew, Robert Letterly.

Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 13, 1987 at Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa with Rev. Jerry Quandt officiating.

Casket bearers were Clarence Fister, Clinton Sisson, Gary Carlson, Joe Jackson and Floyd Davis.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa with arrangements by Pearson Home, Onawa, Iowdied in Onawa, Ia.
