He was born June 22, 1947, in Albert Lea and graduated from Lyle High School in 1965. He served in the Air Force from 1966 to 1969, including in Vietnam for nine months. On Sept. 18, 1971, he married Jacqueline Oakland in St. Ansgar, Iowa. They farmed near Glenville for 20 years before moving to the London area in 1992. He attended First Lutheran Church in Glenville. He had worked at Queen Products, Scotsman and Lou-Rich in Albert Lea and more recently at the Lyle Lumber Yard. He was a member of the Albert Lea VFW and Lyle American Legion, and enjoyed working on tractors, farming, golfing, and baseball.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Dale of Bricelyn, Minn.; one daughter, Dawn (Mrs. Jarvis) Burgett of Emmons, Minn.; one grandson; his parents, Dale and Adella (Weisensel) Attig; three brothers, Daniel of Waseca, Minn., Joe of Albert Lea and Roy of Loami, Ill.; and two sisters, Diane (Mrs. Dean) Anderson of Austin and Rosina (Mrs. Mark) Fett of Northwood, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one brother.
