Gay Warwick Daniel, 75, of Lake Park, died on Monday, May 13, 2013, at her residence. Born in Valdosta to the late Bill and Frances Holmes Warwick, she was a lifelong resident of this area.

A graduate of Valdosta High School in 1957, where she was the captain of the golf team, Mrs. Daniel held on to a love for the game of golf all of her life. Early in her life she was a homemaker, particularly when the kids were young, but she went on to work at SAFT for a number of years as well. Mrs. Daniel was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church and was an ardent fan of the Atlanta Braves.

Survivors include her three daughters and sons-in-law, Shannon and Joe Mares of Valdosta, Margaret Ann and Troy Humbers of Homerville, Clara and Larry Lovingood of Asheville, N.C.; granddaughters, Amanda Adams of Valdosta, Hannah (Jason) Russell of St. Simons, Island, Sarah Adams of Valdosta, Brooke Lovingood and Heather Lovingood of Asheville, N.C., Paige Humbers of Homerville; grandson, Matthew Mares of Valdosta; great-grandson, Cooper Williams of Valdosta; special friends, Clara Williams-Raleigh and Clement (Sonny) Greene Jr.

Gay was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Daniel; her twin sister, Kay Hughes; and twin siblings, Sara Frances (Sister) Smith and William Hibbitt Warwick Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The Rev. David Tart will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
