MSG Alicia Nicole Breeding died Saturday evening May 4, 2013, at her home in Fayetteville, NC with her husband, son and parents at her side. She was 42.

Alicia was born in Elgin, Illinois on December 2nd, 1970 to Forrest and Carol May. She graduated from High School from Tracy High School in Tracy, California in 1989. She joined the US Army Reserves following graduation and enlisted as a Combat Medic. She later entered active duty as a Paralegal Specialist and served at a variety of Duty Stations including 2nd Infantry Division in the Republic of Korea, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado and the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. She deployed on multiple deployments supporting operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. She achieved the rank of Master Sergeant during her 20 years of active service. Alicia was constantly learning. She completed her Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Maryland and her Graduate Degree in Psychology at North Central University.

She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and Soldier.

Her awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (3rd Award), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (5OLC), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Emblem, Army Good Conduct Medal (6th), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (3rd), NATO Medal with Star, Parachutist Badge, Basic Marksman Qualifications Badge.

She is survived by her husband, William Breeding of Fayetteville, NC; her son, Sean Moses of Fayetteville, NC; her parents Forrest and Carol May of Aurora, MO and three sisters, Liana Mallo of Northglen, CO, Diana Needham of West Minster, CO and Marsha Latham of Thorton, CO.

Alicia will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery, 11:00 AM Friday, May 17, 2013.

The family asks that no flowers be sent. Instead, please make donations to any of the many breast cancer awareness or research organizations.
