Mary Ann Epperson married John R. McCurdy on 9 May 1844 in Cedar County, Iowa. The record shows his age as 32 (born 1812) and her age as 17 (born 1827). She became a widow in 1886 and she died six years later in Vernal Utah where her eldest son, Albert, lived. Their firstborn was a daughter, Josephine, who died as an infant; she is most likely buried in Tipton, Cedar County, Iowa where they lived at the time. Also, missing from the list of children below is daughter Margaret, born 1 January 1851 in Sidney, Fremont County, Iowa; she married James Henry Cook on 15 February 1873 in Fremont County, Iowa. It is currently unknown what became of her after that; however, James Cook married Margaret's sister, Emma Ann, in 1879.
