Maximilla (Heck) Baker
Maximilla Baker, 85, of 605 Sixth St., Huntingdon, died at 1:35 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 1987, at her home. She had been in failing health since 1980. She was born Nov. 24, 1901, in Three Springs, the daughter of William P. and Dorothy Jane (Dell) Heck. She was united in marriage to Chester Earl Baker, Sr. on May 18, 1921, at 1501 Mifflin St., Huntingdon. The Rev. L. M. Brady officiated. Her husband preceded her in death Jan. 22, 1980.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Adolph (Vivian) Dealaman of Chambersburg; Mrs. Kenneth (Alberta) Dunlap of Huntingdon; Mrs. Rolin (Evelyn) Kelley of Kistler; Mrs. Vincent (Millie) Ragosta of Bellefonte and Chester E."Bud"Baker Jr. of Huntingdon, R.D. 2. Also survives are 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren and two sisters: Mrs. Clarence (Betha) Holton of Altoona and Mrs. Kenneth (Jessie) Miller of Sharon. Mrs. Baker was of the Protestant faith.
She was a member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary to Standing Stone VFW Post 1754, Huntingdon, and she was an ardent hunter and angler. She attended Garfield School in Springfield Township and spent most of her life in the Huntingdon area.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, Huntingdon. The Rev. William M. Brown will officiate, and interment will be made in Bowman Chapel Cemetery, Mapleton, R.D. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3 and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.
