Mrs. Helen D. Baum, 89, of Newnan, GA, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Southwest Christian Care. She was born October 17, 1923, in Atlanta, GA, to the late George W. Slay & Cora Freeman Slay.

Helen worked at Rich's Department Store as an assistant buyer for many years.

The funeral is Thursday, May 2 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Akins officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City. The visitation is Thursday afternoon between noon and 2 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Southwest Christian Care hospice, 7225 Lester Rd., Union City, GA 30291.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Berton E. Baum of Newnan; and brother, George Slay Jr. of Douglasville.
