RIO GRANDE CITY - Elma M. Alaniz, 79, of San Isidro, died Friday, February 21, 2003, at the Mission Hospital in Mission.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rene Alaniz; and one son, Jaime Alaniz.
She is survived by one son, Javier Alaniz of San Isidro; three daughters, Thelma Alaniz (+Wally) Lanfranco of McAllen, Mary Alaniz (Donnie) Buckalew of Netherland and Rosie Alaniz (Armando) Alfaro of McAllen; one brother, Alberto Montalvo of San Isidro; one sister, Consuela Silva of San Isidro; ten grandchildren, Jimmy Wayne Alaniz, Justin Alaniz, Priscilla Gallegos, Even Lanfranco, Carrie Buckalew, Jamie Buckalew, Brian Buckalew, Armando Alfaro Jr., Alyssa Alfaro; and one great-granddaughter, Kaylee Heart Romero.
Visitation will be from 2 to 10 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today, February 23, 2003, at Sanchez Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2003, at the St. Isidro Catholic Church in San Isidro. Burial will follow at the Montalvo Cemetery in San Isidro.
Sanchez Funeral Home of Rio Grande City is in charge of arrangements.
