George B. DeMello, 77, of Bremerton died Oct. 9, 1999, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
He was born Aug. 12, 1922, in Oakland, Calif., to Delthine and Anne (Muscus) DeMello. He was raised and educated in Oakland.
He married Velda Bunn on April 2, 1943, in Bloomington, Ill. She preceded him in death in 1998.
Mr. DeMello served in the Army during World War II.
He worked as an auto mechanic with the city of Bremerton for 20 years, retiring in 1979. He had lived in Bremerton since 1951, and had been employed as an auto mechanic at various businesses prior to his employment with the city.
Mr. DeMello was well known as a local collector of Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
Survivors include three sons, Edward and Anthony, both of Bremerton, and George Jr. of Cincinnati; two daughters, Romona DeMello-Hoss of San Diego and Kathy Arnold of Bremerton; a brother, Robert of Hawaii; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service is planned for 2 p.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
