Roy "Stoney" David Stone, 72, of Caton, NY, passed away Friday March 29, 2013 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Roy was born in Corning, NY, on August 07, 1940 to the late Roy and Ada Stone. Roy married Linda (Burns) Stone on September 5, 2010 in Corning, NY.
Roy enjoyed camping, listening to his blue grass music, and playing cards. Roy had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed life to the fullest and spending time with his family and friends.
Roy worked for the Steuben County Highway Department for over 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion, John P. Eaton Post, The Marconi Lodge, and he was a former member of the Eagles Club in Corning.
Roy is survived by his wife: Linda Stone, two daughters: Kay (Ivan) Keeney, and Lydia Stone; three sons: Richard (Candace) Stone, Little Roy (Carol) Stone, and Ronald (Darlene) Stone; grandson, Charles (Nikki) Stone; sister, Beverly Burrell and brother, Robert Stone; brother-in-law, Robert Sellard; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and Linda's children: Ron (Darlene) Beers, Rob (Kim) Clair, and Eric (Sarah) Clair.
Roy was predeceased by his first wife Beverly Stone; brothers: Raymond and Richard Stone; sister, Frances Marvin, sister-in-law, Betty Lou Stone.
Friends and family may call Wednesday April 3, 2013 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home immediately following calling hours.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Caton.
