Chesapeake, VA.-- Rita M. Arthur, 80, formerly of Salem, Mass. wife of the late John C. Arthur, died Tuesday in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth, VA.
Born in Indianapolis, Ind., daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Foss, she resided in Salem many years.
Surviving her are a daughter, June L. Merritt of Chesapeake, Va., with whom she resided; a grandson, Lyn H. Merritt, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Friday in the family lot in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
