Mrs. Mary Ann Vinnette, wife of John B. Vinnette, and a pioneer of Saginaw county, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph H. Belill, at County Line Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, after an illness of eight years. Mrs. Vinnette was 75 years of age. Mary Ann Murphy was born at Peterboro, Ont., Canada, February 10, 1843,and was married to John B. Vinnette April 26, 1864. Mr. Vinnette was at the time a surveyor for the Hudson Bay Lumber Co., of Canada, but in 1882 they came and made their home on a farm in Taymouth Township, in Saginaw County.
Mrs. Vinnette is survived by her husband, four sons and three daughters, Joseph E., Oliver D. and George H. of Detroit; William P. of Danville, Ill.; Mrs. Minnie Tackabury of Taymouth; Mrs. Katherine Belill of County Line, Vienna township; Mrs. Ada Willett; of Bridgeport. Besides many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. George Stewart, of Mumford, N.Y.; and Mrs. John Farthing Booth,...Phelon Street, Saginaw.
The funeral took place from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Belill, at County Line, Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Fr. Ryan officiated and burial was in Mt. Morris Catholic Cemetery.
