Edythe M. Humphrey, 81, of Plainfield Township died Friday, September 5, at Easton Hospital.
Born in Pen Argyl on May 2, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Florence Dietrich Repsher.
Before retiring in 1984, she was employed by Sparrow Blouse Mill in Edelmans, and prior to that, she was employed by the former Blue Ridge Textile, Bangor.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Pen Argyl, and attended Pocono Union Church, Henryville, and Slate Belt Baptist Church, Pen Argyl.
She was a 1940 graduate of Pen Argyl High School.
She was a member of UNITE.
She was the wife of the late Pastor David E. Humphrey, who died Feb. 22, 1999.
She is survived by a daughter, Joan E. Humphrey-Mack of Plainfield Township; a son, John T. of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Kathryn H. Hagley of Snydersville and Jean Strauss of Knoxville, Tenn.; a brother, Verne Repsher of Upper Nazareth Township; and two grandchildren, Jonathan D. Mack and Jennifer S. Mack.
A sister, Reba LaBar, and a brother, Mark E. Repsher, all died earlier.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Grace United Methodist Church, 404 E. Mountain Ave., Pen Argyl. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Guerro & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 126 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Pen Argyl, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
Interment will be in Plainfield Cemetery, Plainfield Township.
The family request memorial donations be offered to Pocono Union Church, Henryville, PA 18332 or to Slate Belt Baptist Church, Pen Argyl, PA 18072
