US Congressman. A member of the Democratic Party, he served Ohio's 6th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives from 2007 until 2011. He attended the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and served as a funeral director, prior to launching his political career, initially as a member of the Ohio State House of Representatives (1997 to 2004) and later the Ohio State Senate (2005 to 2007). During his tenure in Congress, he supported the Wall Street Bailout of 2008 was a proponent of Healthcare Reform.
