Mrs. Kleckner dies Sunday

Funeral services for Mrs. Glenn Kleckner were conducted from the Union Church in Hardy Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Kleckner died at the Nuckolls County Hospital Sunday at the age of 82 years, 8 month and 29 days, after suffering from a lengthy illness.

Lizzie May, the fourth child of Charles P. and Mary Ellen Marker Rhoads, was born May 24, 1892, in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.

As a girl of six, she moved with her family from Pennsylvania in the Star District south of Hardy where she spent her life.

She was married to Glenn H. Kleckner on Oct. 27, 1915. They made their home on the Kleckner farm in Jewell County throughout the 59 years of their marriage. She always participated in community affair, including the Jewell Lutheran Church. She was a charter member of the Jewell Social Circle in which she was actively involved throughout her life.

Survivors are her husband, Glenn; two daughters, Mrs. Leslie Shellhase (Fern) of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Mrs. Erich Semler (Hilma) of Dorchester, Neb.; three granddaughters, Susan, Jean and Sharon Semler of Dorchester; four grandsons, Kenneth Semler of Lincoln, Larry Semler of Dorchester, Jeremy Shellhase of Iowa City, Iowa, and Joel Kleckner Shellhase of Hyattsville, Md.; two sisters, Myrtle Entistle of Everett, Wash., and Jennie Sowles of Superior; two brothers, Milton Rhoads of Superior and Lloyd Rhoads of Hermiston, Ore.; other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her sister, Minnie, and three brothers, Ephraim, Harry and James.

The Rev. Peter Trucano, pastor of the Union Church, officiating and interment was in the Rosemound Cemetery south of Hardy. The Montgomery-Williams Funeral Home was in charge of the service.
