Diane Stanley, 59, of Galloway, entered into rest Friday, April 5, 2013. She was born March 5, 1954 in Columbus and was a 1972 graduate of Upper Arlington High School where she was the accompanist for the Concert Choir. Diane attended Otterbein College before transferring to Miami University where she received her B.A. She received her Masters of Education from Ashland University and earned her teacher's certification from OSU.

Ms. Stanley spoke music through both her teaching and faith. She was a music teacher in the Columbus Public Elementary Schools, most recently at Valleyview, Binns, and Linbergh Elementary Schools. Diane was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was the handbell choir director for many years. She was a great pianist and vocalist and will be remembered for her musical talents and warm sense of humor.

Diane was kind and compassionate; she was a dedicated mother and animal lover. She was preceded in death by her parents Wilbur and Jeanne Morrison. Diane will be missed by her 3 loving children, brother, and her faithful companions, Sadie and Rosie.

A memorial service was held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1581 Cambridge Blvd., Columbus. Rev. Philip Brooks, officiating. Private burial was held at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to any Columbus Public School Art Department, or to the Otterbein University Friends of Music.
