Helen G. Jones, 79, Independence, MO, passed away April 7, 2013.

Services will be at 7 pm, Wed. April 10 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052.

The service will be preceded by visitation starting at 5:30 pm.

Graveside services will be at 11 am, Thursday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Warsaw, MO.

Helen was born July 31, 1933 in Warsaw, MO and graduated from Warsaw High School. She was a beautician in Independence for many years and had worked at Dean's Stylistic and the Best Little Hairhouse of Independence before retiring due to health issues in 2000. She was a member of Beaumont Baptist Church for over fifty years where she had sung in the choir and helped with youth groups and Vacation Bible School. She also was active in the Girls Scouts and Boy Scouts when her children were young. She loved her flower gardens, sewing and crafts. Helen was preceded in death by her husband George Jones and son Randall Jones. She is survived by son Robert Jones; daughter Vera Jones; sons Jeffery Jones; Steve Jones and wife Cindy; daughter Alice Jones; son Patrick Jones, all of Independence, MO; sisters Beth Hudgens and husband Nolan, Warsaw, MO; Goldie Johnson and husband Sam, Kansas City, MO; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
