"The Fighting Men of Texas":
T/4 Elias Abdo was born Sept. 21, 1909, and attended Crockett School in San Antonio. He is a brother of Angelina, Mary and Helen Abdo, San Antonio. Entered service Sept. 24, 1942, at San Antonio, and was assigned to Army, Co. L., 169th Infantry Regiment. Trained at Camp Normoyle, and served overseas from June, 1943m to October, 1945, in Asiatic-Pacific, on New Guinea, Admiralty, and Leyte, and was among first troops to enter Tokyo. He received Bronze Star for meritorious service, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon with 4 Bronze Stars and 1 Bronze Arrowhead, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal. Discharged October 19, 1945.
