ALCOLU - Graveside services for Robert Joseph Alderman, 82, will be in Manning Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Lewis Alderman, Rev. Norman Rogers and Rev. Ron Richardson officiating.
Mr. Alderman died Monday at National Healthcare of Sumter. Born May 17, 1917 in Alcolu, he was a son of the late Robert Joseph and Mary Malvenia Elizabeth Geer Alderman. He was a retired farmer, a member of Clarendon Baptist Church. He attended local schools of Clarendon County and Davidson College. He was married to the late Sallie DuBrow Alderman.
Surviving are a son, Robert J. Alderman Jr. of Columbia; daughters, Jennie Alderman Eadon of Alcolu and Sallie Alderman Clark of Columbia; sister, Jennie T. Alderman of Sumter; and several grandchildren.
