23 SEP 2021 SAC correctly noting that this is actually a non-cemetery burial. [The plot field is embedded and cannot be modified.] She was placed at the Washunga Cemetery, which may be located on or near the shores of that lake, but her ashes were reportedly scattered "over the Washunga Bay area." That seems to infer land or water, or both. Washunga Bay is a bay at an elevation of 1043 feet, and is situated Northeast of Kaw City, Oklahoma; North-Central Oklahoma.~
In Memory Of Wanda Mae (Hunt) Cole,
A Poem Titled, "Wanda's Shoes"

I want to start by saying
that I love you all so much.
I hope you'll understand
that I'm feeling kind of rough.
I hate to put you out
and please don't have the blues.
But right now it's a little hard
to be inside my shoes.
God will help me through this
and He will help you too.
And thank you all so very much
for everything you do.
My sister's not a poet
but she loves me a WHOLE lot.
And she tried to write this for me
but there's a lot that she forgot.
It could come back to her someday
and she will add it then.
But when It does come back to her
she might have lost her pen.
So bear with one another,
and with me if you so choose.
Cause sometimes it is hard
to be in Wanda's shoes.

A Poem Titled, "Goodbye Sweet Sister"

I know you didn't want to leave
and oh it hurts me so.
But God sent his angels down and said,
"Its time for you to go"
"You'll have to leave your loved ones,
but they will be all right,"
"I will be there to comfort them
anytime come day or night."
I can't see how I can make it.
My heart is broke in two,
Cause you have always a been there
every time I needed you.
I have so many memories
and suppose I will survive.
You will always be here with me
cause I'll keep them all alive.
I can feel your every presence
just watching over me,
And I know that from all pain
that God has set you free.
So ahead sweet sister
I have to let you go.
I know I'll always love you
more than you'll ever know.

~~~~~~Whistling For the Lord~~~~~~

I hear the rain and thunder and to me it's like a shout.
That you are now in Heaven meeting loved ones all about.

With every clap of thunder I can see another face,
And I know that you are happy in your final resting place.

I know the Angel choir has welcomed you aboard
For they know your awesome whistle. You are whistling for the Lord.

While you were on this earth you could whistle like a bird.
It was the prettiest music that my ears have ever heard.

My music here has stilled now that you've joined the Angel's band
But because I know you're happy I can fully understand.

And if I listen very close and my memory serves me right
I can go back and hear those awesome sounds tonight.

Wanda Mae Cole was born on February 13, 1939, in Washunga Oklahoma to Sherman Willard and Betty Elizabeth (Gorton) Hunt. As a young girl she moved with her family to Tonkawa, Oklahoma where she grew up and attended Tonkawa Public Schools. She married Tinch Arnold Cole on November 15, 1956, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, and they settled in Blackwell. In 1958 they moved to Los Angeles, California, for a year before returning to Blackwell to make their home. In 1962 they returned to Southern California before returning to Blackwell in 1963. In 1966 they again made their home in Los Angeles and lived there until 1979 when they moved to Blackwell. She then began working as a activities director for Blackwell Nursing Home and a dietician for Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Blackwell. In 1997 she began working in home health care before working at Wal-Mart in Blackwell. She retired in 2001. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Blackwell. She enjoyed participating in the women's bowling leagues in Blackwell. She is survived by her husband, Tinch Cole Sr. of Blackwell, Oklahoma, four daughters, Terry Wheeler of Anaheim, California, Connie Walton of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Wilma Durbin of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Loretta Martin of Blackwell, Oklahoma; a son, Tinch Cole Jr. of Blackwell, Oklahoma; three sisters, Rose Askren of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Ruth Martin of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, and Linda Evans of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Sherman Lee and Johnny E. Hunt.
