Max R. Evans, 72, of Blandburg, died in the Altoona General Hospital yesterday, July 9.
A son of Nathaniel and Lara (Fisher) Evans, he was born Dec. 12, 1894 in Nealmont, Tyrone.
His wife, the former Hazel Moffitt survives, as do the following children: ... of Hollidaysburg; ..., Latrobe; ..., Fanwood, N.J. and ..., Los Angeles. Thirteen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.
Three sisters survive: Mrs. Myrtle Styrber, Tyrone; Mrs. Edna Van Egri, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and Mrs. Mildred Campbell, Largo, Fla.
Services will be held Wednesday, at 2 p.m. from the Russell L. Troxell Funeral Home at Glasgow. The Rev. Harold E. Moffitt, Jr., of Narrows, Va. will officiate and interment will be in the Logan Valley Cemetery at Bellwood. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today, tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until the hour of service Wednesday.
