William E. Davies, 80, of Manhattan, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1992, at Memorial Hospital in Manhattan.

Mr. Davies was born Jan. 30, 1912, the son of Ellis and Lenora (Kipp) Davies. He wa a heavy equipment operator with the State of Kansas Highway Department for 30 years before retiring in 1977. He wa member of Bala Presbyterian Church and Riley Odd Fellows Lodge.

He married Thelma Marteney Mar. 1, 1941, in Abilene.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Davies of the home; a brother, Norman Davies of Hutchinson; and five sisters, Ida Stephens and Edith Johnson of Hutchinson, Katherine Henton of Houston, Texas, Nellie Bammes of Derby and Blanche Loberg of Manhattan.

Sevices will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the homes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley with the Rev. Paul Vander Hoven officiating. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Gardens in Manhattan.

Friends may call anytime at the funeral home.
