Mrs.Easton's
Funeral Held
Funeral services for Mrs.Julia Wall Easton,69,who died suddenly Sunday of a heart attack at her home on Trinity avenue, were held yesterday at her home with Rev.V. O.Boyle, rector of Trinity Episcopal church,officiating.
Bearers were six members of the Gouverneur Volunteer Fire Department of which her son Leland was a member. They were Emery Pete, Ernest McCullough, Guy Deans, Warner Miller, Robert Cottrell and George O'Riley. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.
Mrs.Easton who died around 9 o'clock Sunday night, was in apparent good health up until the time of her death. She was sitting on the front porch of her home talking with some neighbors when she was suddenly stricken and died within a four minutes .
Born in Cleveland Ohio on Christmas Day 1868 she was the daughter of James and Mary Humphrey Wall. Her father a native of Rossie, was a Civil War veteran. Her mother was a native of Cleveland.
At the age of 13 she came to Gouverneur with her parents and had lived here for the past 56 years. In 1887 she was married to Edwin C.Easton of Gouverneur, a wheelwright and carpenter. She had lived on Trinity avenue since her marriage to Mr.Easton who died in 1930.
Mrs. Easter was a member of the Barnes Woman's Relief Corp of Gouverneur, and the Methodist Episcopal church. She is survived by one son, Leland Easton, and a daughter, Miss Eltha Easton, both living at home.
