RUTH ALICE BENEDICT
Ruth Alice Benedict, 89, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at the Bethel Home. She was born on Dec. 1, 1914, in Wausau, a daughter of the late Walter and Myrtle Brown Whipple. On Jan. 20, 1930, Ruth married Claude Norman Benedict in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1992.
Ruth is survived by a son, Claude D. "Sonnie" (Edwina) Benedict of Oshkosh; a daughter, Lorna Kloetzke of Fond du Lac; a sister, Doris (Edwin) Lange of Beloit; and a brother, Fred King Jr. of Wausau. She is further survived by four grandchildren, Claudia Block and Carla Sawall, both of Oshkosh, and Andrea (Michael) Schmitz and Patricia (Jeffrey) Michels, both of Fond du Lac; seven great-grandchildren, Jason W. and Michael Block, Curtis Sawall, Shawn and Bradley Schmitz, and Brett and Jacob Michels; and a great-great-grandson, Austin W. Block.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Fred King Sr.; a sister, Eva Lenz; and a brother, Mitchell Whippler.
Services: Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon St., Oshkosh, with the Rev. Thomas McFarland officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation: Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, at the funeral chapel. A memorial fund is being established. Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, Oshkosh, is serving the family.

Ruth's mother Myrtle King, FAG# 89005065, is buried with her second husband, Fred King Sr., FAG# 89005070, in Saint Michaels Cemetery, Wausau, Marathon County, Wisconsin.
