Hallene Choate (1926 - 2011)

Hallene Dumas Choate, a longtime Fort Worth resident, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011. Graveside service: 3 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

She attended Paschal High School, Texas Wesley University and Texas Woman's University. For decades she taught fourth grade at M.H. Moore Elementary in the FWISD system. In retirement she continued her education by traveling to the U.K., Boston, Europe and the Middle East with her husband and family. Mama, we will all miss your homemade fried country potatoes. May you rest in peace, hand in hand with daddy while you dwell in heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents, Laura and William Dumas; her brothers, Rex, Jack and Frank Dumas; her sisters, Cleo Dumas and Mary Lee Moore; and her husband of 54 years, David R. Choate, the love of her life.

Survivors: Brother, Allen Dumas; sister, Anna Bentle; children, Carolyn Pasternak and David Choate Jr.; grandchildren, Chris Pasternak, Camie Scott and Jason Pasternak; and great-grandchildren, Ella and Addison Pasternak, Ava and Sophia Scott.
