Celia Sumner, (1862-1897), married Daniel R. (Matherly) Matherlee on 2 May 1881 in Robertson, Tennessee. They had five children, Mary J, (1883-1952) who married John Monroe Goodman (1884-1922). Maynard M (1885-1932) who married Abalene (1888-1967), Leur B. (1893- ?), Hayden, (1897-?) who married Ethel Sweat and Eva Mae, (1895-?) who married Mark Gibson and Alpha Hall.

Celia Jane Sumner was the ninth of thirteen children of Alney McLean and Nancy Jane Hunt Sumner.

Celia died in 1897 with the birth of her last child, Hayden.
Daniel Matherlee married "Martie" Goodman Shelton in 1898.
