Curtis A. Phillips, 79, Claimed by Long Illness

Curtis A Phillips, 79, 2001 Ohio Ave. retired employee of Northwestern Coal dock No. 1, and resident of Superior since 1946 died Friday at a local hospital following a long illness. He was born August 20, 1867, in Wrightstown, in Brown County. Mr. Phillips was a member of the First Baptist Church and Odd Fellows lodge No. 338.
Surviving are his wife, Myrtle; five daughters, Mrs. Iva Goneau, Poplar; Mrs. Helen Johnson, Minneapolis, MN, Mrs. Daisy Siegel, Iron River; Mrs. Yula Jacobs, Waterloo, IA, and Mrs. Dorothy O'Rourke, Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sons, Lee, Guy and George, all of Superior; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held Monday, 2 pm at the Downs Chapel with he Rev. George Turk officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Mosentine, George Walker and Oscar Carlson from Terminal lodge, I.O.O.G. and Al Borgen, Carl Halberg and E. E. Gradin, from Lodge No. 338. Quality: 3
