Betty was known to everyone as "Maw Maw". She was a devoted Christian, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was also known as the "Dessert Queen". Her two most requested cakes were her Strawberry Cloud and NY style Cheesecake. She loved to work in her yard and cook. She loved to help others in any way possible, which included building houses or churches, sewing, painting and cooking. Her biggest passion was cooking whether for her family, a family in need or a large church congregation; you could always find her in the kitchen. She also ministered to people by cooking, talking or listening. She helped many people become better persons and Christians. At the end of every conversation she would say, "Love you" as she cared for everyone. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
She was active in each church she attended including Winters Chapel Baptist, North Peachtree Baptist, Church of the Nation, Bethlehem First Baptist and Living Word Baptist. She was a founding member of both Winters Chapel and North Peachtree Baptist and helped to build both churches.
She is survived by her 4 children; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; one sister, and one sister-in-law. (Names of living family members are not listed for their protection.)
