James "Mike" Bradley, 59, of East Flat Rock went to be with the Lord on Friday May 13, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
A life-long resident of Henderson County, he was a son of Martha Canup Bradley and the late James Bradley.
He was a prominent business owner in Henderson County. He owned and operated Bradley Flooring for over thirty years. He was of the Baptist faith and was an avid fan of NASCAR.
In addition to his father he is preceded in death by a son, James Michael Bradley, Jr.; his step-father, Charles Canup; two uncles, Walter and Frank Bradley and an aunt, Hazel Schalow.
He is survived by a daughter, Teena Bradley Hodges and her husband Chad of Hendersonville; two grandchildren, Sammantha and Tayler Hodges; one sister, Debbie Williams and her husband Frank; five brothers, Ricky Canup and his wife Stacey, Tommy Canup and his wife Melissa, Dale Bradley and his wife Kristhy, Stacy Bradley and his wife Janice, Scott Bradley and his partner Edward; three step-brothers, Terry, Tim and Tony Plott; his step-mother, Texie Bradley; two aunts, "Puff" Bradley and Nora Camp; his spouse Laurice Bradley and her two children, Charity and Jason of Mills River; two dear friends, Dave and Shellie; his beloved cat, Nemo and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at 2:00 pm Monday at Victory Tabernacle. The Reverends Lawrence Russell and Lloyd Morgan will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
