Harry A. Everett, age 66, veretan livestock dealer and for thirty-five years in the horse and mule trading business in Palestine, was found dead early Sunday morning, December 18, 1932. Death was due to a heart attack according to a coroner's inquest.
Apparently in good health, Mr. Everett was on duty at the Everett & Meyer stable in Old Town Saturday and retired Saturday night without complaining of feeling bad. He was found dead Sunday morning about 6:30 o'clock.
Hartman Ambrose Everett was the son of John and Margaret St.Clair Everett. He was born March 16, 1866 in Danville, Pennsylvania. When but a small boy he came with his parents to Charlton, Iowa and grew to manhood there. About 1910 Mr. Everett moved to Palestine where he bought and sold mules and horses. He was always honest and upright in his dealings and made friends of all whom he came in contact. He possessed a jovial disposition and had a pleasant word for everyone. He took a great delight in lending a helping hand to anyone in need.
He married Lizzie Ellen Troxel of Derby, Iowa, daughter of J.M. Troxel of Charlton on July 26, 1898. She preceded him in death on January 31, 1922.
He is survived by three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Nora Nichols of Newell, South Dakota; Mrs. Catherine Nichols of Guneseo, Illinois; Mrs. Regina Kumm of Charlton, Iowa; Jacob Everett fo Scotin, Nebraska; and Joseph Everett of Des Moines, Iowa.
Mr. Everett was widely known among livestock dealers of the southwest, many of whom are expected here Wednesday for the funeral.
