KINGSTON, N.H. - Marie E. (Ricker) Chaput, 70, of Kingston, loving daughter of the late Roland and Arline (Brooks) Ricker, passed away peacefully on Feb. 20, 2013, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Mass., after a period of declining health.

Marie was born in Portsmouth, N.H., and graduated from Haverhill High School in 1960. She lived in Haverhill and Merrimac, working as a nurse's aide until she married Dick in 1961. Always adventurous, she moved to Maine in 1972 with her husband to start a coffee service company, Modern Age Beverage Service, which was successful for many years. MABS was eventually bought out by ARAMark, and in 1988 she returned home to Merrimac with her husband, Dick, and enjoyed several more years of working alongside him at her daughter and son-in-law's business, Advanced Laundry Service.

She was the beloved wife of Richard J. "Dick" Chaput for more than 51 years, and devoted mother of Victor Chaput Sr. and his wife, Laura, of Ferrisburgh, Vt., Donna (Chaput) Meuse and her husband, Vincent, of Kingston, N.H., Richard R. Chaput and his wife, Dianna, of Saco, Maine, and Barbara (Chaput) Boucher and her husband, Arnold, of Merrimac, Mass.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl (Chaput) Eastman, and remained close to her son-in-law, Rick, of Merrimac. She is also survived by many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her close circle of friends -- including Vickie Jean, Marie Lagasse, Ginny Stefanilo, Donna Maddox and Donna Tilden -- will miss her dearly.

Marie grew up an only child, but confirmed late in life that she was adopted as an infant. Her oldest brother, Philip Kennison of Chelmsford, Mass., searched for her, and she was blessed to be reunited with her brothers and sister including Vinal Kenneson, of Chicopee, Mass., and Ella (Kenneson) Arsenau, of Lake Worth, Fla., on Aug. 2, 2006, along with several nieces and nephews. Sadly, Marie was predeceased by her brother, Milton Kenneson, and sister, Constance Kenneson.
Burial will be at Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. (Morning Sentinel 2/21/2013)
