Dorothy Mandrell, 91, Bemidji, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1999, at her home. A memorial service was at her home. Interment following cremation was in Evergreen Cemetery in Northern Township in Bemidji.

She was born Dec. 7, 1907, in Mountain Lake, to Earl and Florence (Anthony) Moulton. She was raised there and moved with her family to Northern Township in 1919. She attended Bemidji Normal School and taught rural school in Eckles Township for a time.
She married Otis Mandrell June 6, 1926, at her parents' home. They raised their family in Northern Township. She was a charter member of Northern Bible Church where she was active in teaching Sunday school, Bible school, "Know Your Bible" classes and adult and women's Bible studies. She also led Bible studies and prayer groups at her home.
She enjoyed cooking and serving people. She was especially known to her family and friends by presenting her home cooked jams as gifts.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Ronald (Lois) Mandrell, Bemidji; five daughters, Jean Benson, Richland, Wash., Joan (John) Gordon, Scandia, Minn., Joyce (Roger) Thompson, Colorado Springs, Colo., Marilyn (Art) Gidden, Bemidji, and Marjorie (Doug) Dyas, Fouke, Ark.; 23 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Merton.
