Anton James Faso was born on May 22, 1914 in Chicago, IL. His parents were Santos and Virginia (Palumbo) Faso. Anton's father died when he was nine years old and he was lovingly raised by his mother and step-father, Virginia and Phillip Battaglia, in Savannah, IL and McCausland, IA. His parents operated grocery stores in both locations. It was in McCausland where Anton met the love of his life, Gladys Lessin. They were married on December 14, 1936 in Waukegan, IL. They were united in marriage 69 years prior to her passing away in 2005. Andy worked for Thoms Proestler as a route salesman for 44 years. He and Gladys enjoyed traveling to many locations far and wide on their own and on mystery trips through the various organizations they belonged to.
He especially enjoyed his last 3 ½ years living at Garner Place. The family would like to thank the wonderful friends he made there, for their love and support of him maintaining his quality of life. Andy especially looked forward to 10:00 a.m. coffee with the "girls."
Those left to honor his memory are Children: Robert G. (Gloria J.) Faso of Davenport, James P. (Linda) Faso of Las Vegas, NV, Doris Cleary (Robert Zogg) of Moline, IL; Grandchildren: Nicole Faso (Kelly) McDonald of Bettendorf, IA, Mike (Rhonda) Cleary of Finneytown, OH, Tom Cleary of Coal Valley, IL, Pat Cleary of Moline, IL, Kathleen Cleary of Moline, IL, Anthony (Vicki) Faso of Las Vegas, NV, Debbie Faso (Curt) Croshaw of Las Vegas, NV, Angie Faso of Las Vegas, NV; and 8 Great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Gladys, he was preceded in death by his sister, Angeline. May they rest in peace.
