Barbara F. Blanchfield, 84, of West Hartford, died Sunday, (January 6, 2002) at the Norwalk Hospital. She was the wife of the late David W. Blanchfield.
Mrs. Blanchfleld was born in Hartford April 15, 1917, daughter of the late John and Sarah (Hayes) Farrell.
She attended Hartford schools and St. Joseph College in West Hartford, was a member of St. Helena's Parish in West Hartford and a former employee of Hartford Steam Boiler and the Traveler's Insurance Co.
Survivors include two sons, Rev. David W. Blanchfield of Norwalk and Brian J. Blanchfield of Windsor, VT; two daughters, Barbara B. Maillar of Cambridge, MA, and Linda Blase of Trumbull; and four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, 11 a.m., at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Rd., Norwalk, with burial to follow at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield.
There will be no visiting hours. Contributions may be made to St. Jerome Church; or to the Honey Hill Care Center, 34 Midrocks Rd., Norwalk, 06851. The Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, is handling arrangements. Published in The Hartford Courant on January 7, 2002
