Elma Ruth Abbott of Carol Stream, Ill., passed away at her home on January 25, 2013, after a long illness.
She was born January 6, 1929, to the late Bobby and Mary Dangerfield of Ashford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore "Ted" Abbott; brothers, Charles, Dean and Doug Dangerfield; and sisters, Reba C. James, Naomi "Neb" Harless and Alice Zenisek.

She is survived by four sons, Theodore Lindy (Llynn) of Peytona, Carl Gene (Laurie) of Bartless, Ill., Michael Wayne (Adrienne) of Elburn, Ill., and John Mark of Carol Stream, Ill.; five grandchildren, Cynthia Collins (Bobby), Mark Abbott, Megan Abbott, Michael Abbott and Chris Grandrud; four great-grandchildren, Lindsay Collins, Taylor and Christopher Abbott and Hailey Abbott; one great-great-grandchild, Dylan Grandrud; sisters, Ann Chandler, Kathryn Barker, Helen Burgy, Lou Dangerfield and Beverly Pauley; brother, Kermit Dangerfield; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 16, at Peytona Church of Christ with Minister Charles McKinney officiating. A dinner will be served for family and friends at the church after the service. A private graveside service for the family will be held at noon at Barker Cemetery, Ashford.
