DAVENPORT -- Frances M. Asay, of Davenport passed away Saturday, November 18, 2006, at the Iowa Masonic Home in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Davenport. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Runge Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church. Frances was born November 7, 1922, in Spragueville, Iowa, the daughter of Frank F. and Ruth (Nims) Duhme. She was united in marriage to Raymond Asay Jr. on August 30, 1942, in Preston, Iowa; he passed away January 2, 2004. She was employed at JI Case in Rock Island, US Finishing Co. and Hempel Pipe and Supply Company prior to her retirement. Her memberships include Grace United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star 178 and the Mohassan Caldron. She also was a long-time squaredancer. Those left to honor her memory include sons, Roger and wife, Martha Asay, Davenport, and Dennis and wife, Mitzie Asay, Hutchinson, Minn.; grandchildren, Tony Asay, Palm Coast, Fla., Bonnie and husband, David Schaeffer, Blue Grass, and Michael Asay, Davenport; brother and sister-in-law, Lyle and Jean Duhme, Preston, Iowa; sisters, Marjorie Meyer, Mount Vernon, Iowa, and Glenna Palmer, Cambridge, Ill. Her parents, one sister and one brother preceded her in death.
