Mrs. Walter C. Alexander, 83, 2104 Walnut St., a resident of Murphysboro for 60 years, died at 7:55 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Memorial Hospital, Murphysboro.
Mrs. Alexander had been a patient in the hospital five days.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Murphysboro.
Born Feb. 16, 1884, in Oneida, N. Y., she was the daughter of Charles and Sophia Beebee Forbes.
She was married to Walter C. Alexander Nov. 22, 1905, in Yonkers, N. Y.
She leaves a son, Forbes Alexander, a niece, Mrs. Ben Daniel, and a nephew, Alexander Kent, all of Murphysboro.
