Jesse Ankrom aged 86, a former resident of this county died at his home in Agency, Iowa Sunday, June 14,according to a letter received by Henson Dixon of McArthur, from Mr. Ankrom's daughter, Mrs. Anna A. Long. He was a veteran of the civil war. His wife who still survives, is 88 years of age. Her maiden name was Hook, a cousin of Barnet Hook of McArther, and, he was an uncle of the late Riley Ankrom. 3 daughters all maried also survive him.
Note: "former resident of this county" = Vinton Co., Ohio. Also McArthur is the
county seat of Vinton Co.
