A native of Midland, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Cavanaugh) Canty. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church the sodality, and American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband, Isaac Stakem; a daughter, Mrs. Paul Shear, here; a sister, Mrs. Marie Woods, Alexandria, Va., and two grandchildren. The body is at the Eichhorn Funeral Home where friends will be received from 7 until 9 p.m. and and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Monday at 9:30 a.m. with interment in the parish cemetery."
