She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1940 and continued her education at Capital City Business College. Lois married Richard F. Gray in 1941. When Richard went to the Navy, Lois worked at the ordinance plant in Ankeny in the manufacture of munitions. After WW II, she and Richard welcomed two children. Lois worked at Equitable Insurance for 22 years. After that, she was an associate for the Des Moines Public Schools for 12 years.
Lois is survived by her daughters, Joyce G. (David) McSorley and Gloria Gray; grandchildren, Emily (Dan) Tripp and Beth (Taylor) Webb; and great grandchildren, Olivia Webb, Penelope Webb, and Thurston Tripp.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Gray, parents, and siblings
