Mildred Lucille Trapp Banks, 91, of Huntsville passed away Saturday.
She was born to Felon and Ova Trapp on April 10, 1920, in Huntland, Tenn. She attended Rison School, where she was active in sports, playing tennis, softball and basketball. She was married to Basil Banks for 67 years.
Mildred was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She worked for most of her life at various jobs, including General Shoe Co.; Huntsville Park Variety Store, as owner and operator; Singer Sewing Machine Co.; and Mason Jewelers, her last job.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Basil Banks; an infant son; her sisters, Alma Edgemon, Kathleen Andrews and Martha Teague; and her brothers, Herbert Majors and Almon Majors.
She is survived by her son, Daniel B. Banks Jr. and wife Jennifer Lynn; a granddaughter, Page Ann Banks; sister, Nancy Robertson; brother, Audy Majors; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Berryhill Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Coy Hallmark officiating.
