Patricia was born Nov 6, 1920 in New York State, the daughter of James Shewan (1871 - 1926) and Jessica Brown (1886 - 1935). She was the second wife of Count Jacques de Sibour,

"de SIBOUR, COUNTESS PATRICIA (nee Shewan,) passed away July 8, 2012, at age 91, at Gladwyne, PA. A funeral Mass will be held at St John Vianney Catholic Church, 350 Conshohocken State Rd.,Gladwyne, PA on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. The burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in New York City. She is survived by 3 daughters and 2 sons; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Count Jacques de Sibour, and her brother, James Shewan. Patricia attended Miss Hewitt's School in New York, NY, and graduated from Foxcroft School in Middleburg, VA. A medieval historian who wrote on Muslim influence in the Iberic Peninsula and the first Crusades, her life was one of extensive travel and her friends and family will remember her as a delightful hostess. Patricia was a member of the Colony Club in New York, NY, and the Merion Cricket Club in Haverford, PA."
