Beth graduated from Wetmore High School in 1944.She committed to the United States Cadet Nurse Corp in 1944 and graduated as Senior Cadet in 1947. She also graduated from Jane C. Stormont School of Nursing in 1947 and received her BSN from Washburn University in 1979.
Beth was a Registered Nurse for Jackson County Health Department and later retired from Veterans Administration Medical Center. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Rebekah Lodge, Psi Chi Honor Society, U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps and participated with Jackson County Honor Flight Program. She was a Past Noble Grand, a member and past president of American Legion Auxiliary, VFW #1367 Auxiliary, NARFE and past member of Silver Haired Legislator.
Beth married Paul H. Bohannon on September 7, 1947 in Wetmore. He preceded her in death on December 19, 1997. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Ivan L., Elton E. "Gene"and James C. Scott.
Survivors include a son, Paul Bohannon, Jr. of Omaha, NE; 3 daughters, Janet Stevens (Bill) of Meriden, KS, Connie Kebert (Greg Henry) of Holton, KS and Nancy Sullivan (Mark) of Holton, KS; 3 sisters, Marvel McDaniel of Winchester, KS, Elaine Suther (Clet) of New Carlisle, OH and Ruth Glenn of Wetmore, KS; 2 brothers, Robert "Bob" Scott (Phyllis) of Holton, KS and Harry "Mac" Scott (Bev) of Cypress, TX; 3 sisters in law, Edith Scott of Belle Plaine, KS, Hap Scott of Topeka, KS and Bernadine Bohannon of Holton, KS; 8 grandchildren, Jason Kebert, Jeremy Kebert (Brenda), Addie Larson (Cory), Justin Kebert (Melissa Simmons), Donelle Stevens, Windy Young (Wes), Tanya Roeder, Ben Hakenson; 15 great grandchildren, Keigan, Caleb, Kinsley and Keira Kebert, Hope, Ethan and Jakob Kebert, Asher, Lexie and Ellis Larson, Trace and Tori Young, Miles and Graham Roeder and Morgan Hakenson.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery.
