Professional Football Player. Born Donald Montgomery Hutson, but also know as Donald Roy Hutson, Don played 11 seasons for the Green Bay Packers from 1935-1945, playing the positions of End and Defensive Back. He led the NFL in catching passes for a total of eight seasons, five of them consecutive. In addition, he was a skilled place-kicker and defensive halfback. He led the league in scoring from 1940 through 1944; in touchdowns from 1935 through 1938 and from 1941 through 1944; in pass receptions from 1936, 1937, and 1939 and from 1941 through 1944. His best season was in 1942, when he set the NFL records by catching 74 passes for 1,211 yard and 17 touchdowns. He also kicked 33 points after touchdown and one field goal for a total of 138 points, a record which remained in the NFL record books until 1960. Between 1937 and 1945, there were 95 games where he caught at least one pass for each game. On his retirement, his record was 823 points, 105 total TDs, 100 TDs on passes caught, 488 receptions, and 7,991 yards gained by receiving passes.
