Ramona G. (Angstadt) "Shorty" Borders, age 76, of Lafayette, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 in her residence.

Born on March 19, 1936 in Williamsport, she was reared by the late William Agusta Kirts & Eunice Viola (Martin) Kirts.

She married James Robert Borders on April 2, 1955 in Danville, IL and he preceded her in death on January 2, 1993.

Shorty worked as a hostess for Burger King for 16 years & in food service at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 17 years. She was a member of Elston Presbyterian (Stidham) Church. She enjoyed playing cards, NASCAR & camping. She loved family functions.

Surviving are 3 daughters: Pamela S. Trader & Deborah K. Irwin both of Lafayette & Georgann Dolick (husb: David) of West Point, 2 siblings: Charles "Chuck" Angstadt (wife: Jacki) of Monticello & Donna Kay Synesael (husb: Kenny) of West Point, 7 grandchildren: Julie Wiley (husb: Bob), Jennifer Floyd, Billie Irwin, Nikkie Jacot (companion: Jeff Wagner), Jody Trader (wife: Schelly), Joe Wilson & J.P. Harris, 18 great-grandchildren & 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by siblings: Nelson Martin, Donnie Angstadt, Eugene Kirts, Junior Angstadt, Kenny Kirts, Lucille Rice, Barbara Wilson, Jessie Stinbaugh & Waneta Swinford.

Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 with the service to follow at 7 p.m. at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Pastor Catherine Moran officiating. Inurnment at Salem Cemetery near Odell will occur at a later date. Hippensteel Funeral Home entrusted with care
